Workshop: Creating a Sense of Belonging in the Music Room

Join me for a deep dive into the importance of cultivating a sense of belonging in the music room!

This workshops is for K-8 music educators who:

• Want to ensure they foster a sense of belonging for all learners, especially our most marginalized learners
• Value building authentic relationships and community with and among their young musicians
• Believe that centering learner voice & choice is an essential part of cultivating a culturally responsive & accessible music classroom

We will examine why belonging is an important factor in cultivating the engagement needed for deep musical understanding, as well as explore several lesson plans suitable for the K-8 general music room designed to help learners explore welcoming and belonging through musical learning activities with a focus on practical applications that you can utilize in your music room.

Registered participants will receive lesson plan samples!
